'Take One Picture' 2018

19th February 2018

‘Take One Picture’ week in school – this week!

For a number of years now, we have spent a week each year learning a lot about a particular painting; this year, we are doing something completely different!  We have invited Kate Green, a local artist, as well as a member of our school community (as the parent of a child in our school) to be our artist-in-residence for the week.

This morning, Kate has been painting live in front of the whole school and then, different year groups of children.  The painting is called ‘Take my hand’, and has been inspired by a song we sing in school in assembly called ‘Right to be loved’. All children in school have added their own circles to the painting this morning. The artwork is colourful and vibrant, as are our wonderful children!

The painting will be on display in the entrance hall, along with some other examples of Kate’s artwork; you are welcome to come into school to view the display at any point this week or next week.

You may also wish to visit Kate’s website, www.flourishandfly.co.uk, to see examples of her work.
