Children in Year 3 made observational drawings of the pottery they saw on their trip to the Fitzwilliam Museum. These inspired their own plant themed plate designs. They used blue ink and different sized paint brushes to decorate the plates. 
On the trip the children learned about Islamic pottery. They looked at plates, bowls and jugs made in Muslim countries such as Iran and Turkey. Many of these have fruit, flower and plant patterns on them. Some of the pottery was 1000 years old!
