Reading Trophies, AJ the Attendance Bear and TT Rock Stars

17th April 2023
EYFS and KS1 Trophy

In EYFS/KS1 we aim for all children to have at least 5 recorded reads in their reading diaries every week. This helps grown-ups in school to understand the books children have been enjoying at home. The trophy is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of children achieving their target of at least 5 reads.

This week Class 6 won the trophy with 84%, Class 5 came second with 74% and Classes 3 and 4 came joint third with 63%. Well done everyone and please do remember to record in your child's reading in their diary to help them win the trophy for their class.

Key Stage 2 Trophies

In Key Stage 2, children are asked to read for at least 30 minutes a day. Some of this reading time is provided in class, within the school day, and some should take place at home. The reading trophies are awarded to the class in each phase (Lower KS2 and Upper KS2) with the highest average reading times. This week Class 9 won the LKS2 trophy with an average of 30 minutes and Class 11 won the UKS2 trophy with 40 minutes.

Attendance Bear

Each week the class with the best attendance gets awarded AJ the Attendance Bear. This week's best attendance was achieved by Class 13, who will be joined by AJ this week. Well done!
