Year 6 Zaha Hadid Artwork

10th June 2024

This half term, Year 6 have been learning all about the architect Zaha Hadid. Firstly, the children looked at examples of buildings designed by Zaha Hadid, reflected on their design and thought about what may have inspired them. They also learned more about the architect herself and how much of her work included curvy designs and was inspired by nature. Next, the children learned and practised some techniques which could be used when sketching using ink pens. Later on, the children created their own designs for a new building (a museum dedicated to evolution). These designs were inspired in some way by the natural world and included the sketching techniques which the children had learned earlier. Finally, the children created their final masterpieces and made backgrounds for these using marbling inks. We hope you agree that the work produced is fantastic!
