Year 1 Antarctica talk

25th June 2019

Class 3 and 4  were excited to have a visit from an ex Arbury parent and who has just returned from the Antarctic. The children learned about where Antarctica is and what it is like there. They looked at the sorts of animals that live there and how these animals manage to stay warm. The children tried on warm clothes, tried out a sleeping bag, tested to see if water feels warmer if you are covered in a layer of fat, and felt a huge ice block. It was a very interesting morning.
