Black History Month launch assembly

1st October 2019
This week we launched Black History Month with a whole school assembly. Mrs Rawlins talked about the importance of treating all people with respect, and that as a school it is very important that all our children are free to be themselves. She invited all children to take part in a poster competition (see details below).

Black History Month is held every year in October. It promotes the history and contributions that African, Caribbean, Asian and other BAME communities have made to Cambridge and the UK.

Events around the country include history and heritage, arts and culture, news and ideas from a range of communities. It is an opportunity to share activities and experiences.

Black History Month was first celebrated in the UK in 1987. We have celebrated it in Cambridge since 2005.
