'Art To Go' filming at Kettle's Yard

10th October 2022
We were invited to send a small group of children from Year 4 to Kettle's Yard on Monday 10th October to make some art with John Lyons.  The session was filmed for one of Kettle's Yard's 'Art To Go' videos, which can be accessed from their website to be used for being creative at home!  Click on the link below to view the finished video!

The children made some very colourful carnival-inspired masks, and had the opportunity to meet and work with John Lyons.  John is an artist, writer and poet who was originally born in Trinidad, but now lives in Ely.  He is 89 years old and remains passionate about poetry, art and creativity!

The children worked beautifully on their own and together to make their masks, which definitely look suitable for any carnival occasion!

Thank you to all at Kettle's Yard for this lovely experience and to the children and the school staff who made the whole experience so enjoyable!

Have a look at the photos below to give you a little flavour of what the children did!
