Reading Trophies and AJ the Attendance Bear

21st February 2023

EYFS and KS1 Trophy

In EYFS/KS1 we aim for all children to have at least 5 recorded reads in their reading diaries every week. This helps grown-ups in school to understand the books children have been enjoying at home. The trophy is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of children achieving their target of at least 5 reads.

Based on the final week before our half term break, Class 6 won the trophy with a brilliant 96%, Class 2 came second with 71% and Class 1 came third with 65%. Well done everyone and please do remember to record in your child's reading in their diary to help them win the trophy for their class.

Key Stage 2 Trophies

In Key Stage 2, children are asked to read for at least 30 minutes a day. Some of this reading time is provided in class, within the school day, and some should take place at home. The reading trophies are awarded to the class in each phase (Lower KS2 and Upper KS2) with the highest average reading times.

Attendance Bear

Each week the class with the best attendance gets awarded AJ the Attendance Bear. Based on the final week of last half term, the best attendance was achieved by Class 13, who will be joined by AJ this week. Well done!
