Mrs Rawlins' Monday assembly

15th June 2020
In her Monday assembly, Mrs Rawlins talked to the children about the importance of kindness and respect.  She also reminded them of the ‘No bystanders’ and ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ work we did during the Autumn Term.  You can view the assembly by logging on to e-schools.

We have also had a look at this book list recently published by the National Literacy Trust. There are some excellent titles here you may like to look at.  We plan to video ourselves reading some of these and put the videos on e-schools very soon.

The National Literacy Trust say:

"We have brought together a series of book lists (below) for children and young people of all ages to share black stories and promote black voices.

All books featured in the book lists are by black authors and/or illustrators.

The age-appropriate book lists have been created to help children, young people, families and teachers explore race, identity, family and community."
