Black History Month 2018

1st October 2018
Black History Month 2018 was launched with a very powerful assembly from Mrs Rawlins. She talked about a girl called Ruby Bridges who was born in America in 1954. She was the first African American child to attend an all-white school in the south of America at the age of 6. She went on to become a civil rights activist and in 1999 established The Ruby Bridges Foundation to promote acceptance, challenge racism and create change though education.

We will be taking part in this year's Show Racism The Red Card campaign 'Wear Red Day' on Friday 19th October.
