Class 6 visit to Amey Cespa Recycling Centre

4th October 2017

Class 6 visited Amey Cespa Recycling Centre today. We had a great day out and learned such a lot about how waste can be reused, reduced or recycled. We had a tour of the site, which was very smelly again! We watched the huge sorting machines processing the paper, card, plastics and metal. We saw the green waste being brought in in enormous lorries, and put into clamps ready to be heated and turned into compost. We made elephants and plant pots from our recycled milk bottles. We planted a daffodil bulb in each plant pot, and will observe these over the coming weeks and months.
