EYFS- The Enormous Turnip

Last week, the children in EYFS found an enormous turnip in the raised beds! Alongside the turnip, was a copy of the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’. The children enjoyed listening to the story. When they got to the end of the story, they found that there was: a letter from the little old man, a packet of turnip seeds and a set of instructions on how to plant a turnip seed stuck to the back of the book. The children retold the instructions, adding actions to help them remember each step. Then all of the children had the opportunity to plant a turnip seed. Maybe we will have another enormous turnip in our raised beds soon?
