Reading Trophies 28th November 2022

28th November 2022

EYFS and KS1 Trophy

In EYFS/KS1 we aim for all children to have at least 5 recorded reads in their reading diaries every week. This helps grown-ups in school to understand the books children have been enjoying at home. The trophy is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of children achieving their target of at least 5 reads.

This week Class 6 won the trophy with 85%, Class 1 came second with 82% and Class 5 came third with 77%. Well done everyone and please do remember to record in your child's reading in their diary to help them win the trophy for their class.

Key Stage 2 Trophies

In Key Stage 2, children are asked to read for at least 30 minutes a day. Some of this reading time is provided in class, within the school day, and some should take place at home. The reading trophies are awarded to the class in each phase (Lower KS2 and Upper KS2) with the highest average reading times. This week Class 10 won the LKS2 trophy and Class 14 won the UKS2 trophy.

Word Millionaires

Once children have read 1 million words or more they become 'Word Millionaires'! We are very pleased that we have several more children this week celebrating this impressive achievement. They each get a certificate and have been added to our 'Word Millionaire' notice board in the KS2 library area. Well done!
