Ajay the Attendance Bear, Reading trophies and TTRockstars - 11.12.23

11th December 2023

EYFS and KS1 Reading Trophy

Congratulations to our winners for this week, Class 6!  Our top 3 class percentages for achieving at least 5 reads over the week are:  1st, Class 6 with 96%; 2nd, Class 5 with 73% and 3rd, Class 2 with 70%.

In EYFS/KS1 we aim for all children to have at least 5 recorded reads in their reading diaries every week. This helps grown-ups in school to understand the books children have been enjoying at home. The trophy is awarded to the class with the highest percentage of children achieving their target of at least 5 reads.

Well done everyone!  Please do remember to record your child's reading in their diary to help them win the trophy for their class.

Key Stage 2 Reading Trophies

Congratulations to Class 8 for winning the Y3/4 trophy and to Class 12 for winning the Y5/6 trophy!

In Key Stage 2, children are asked to read for at least 30 minutes a day. Some of this reading time is provided in class within the school day, and some should take place at home. The reading trophies are awarded to the class in each phase (Lower KS2 and Upper KS2) with the highest average reading times.

 Ajay the Attendance Bear

Each week the class with the best attendance is awarded Ajay the Attendance Bear, who will spend the week with the winning class. This week's best attendance was achieved by Classes 3 and 6, who Ajay will be spending the week with! Well done!

TTRockstars

Over the past week, the weekly TTRS competition was based on the highest average number of correct answers. The top 3 places this week are:

  •  Class 7
  •  Class 10
  •  Class 13

Congratulations to Class 7!

Next week, our focus will be on the highest average number of minutes played.

Congratulations to the children who won the first and second prizes in the Red Hen competition to colour and name their giraffe.  The winning name, chosen by their judges, was Amber.
