Class 11 Maths and trees

23rd June 2021

"For our Maths lesson, we measured the age of trees by measuring the circumference of a tree 1.3 metres from the ground. We then converted our measurements in centimetres into inches which told us the approximate age of each tree (1 inch = 1 year!)

Once we discovered the ages, we used sample leaves from each of the trees to classify what type of tree it was through the Woodlands Trust app. We had to answer a set of questions about the leaves to determine the type of tree.  It was a lovely lesson! "
