Class Reading Books Spring 2

25th February 2019
Each class has been given a carefully chosen book to enjoy reading for this half term.
Our aim is to a) choose fabulous books that the children (and staff) are going to love, and b) to help children develop their vocabulary by reading and rereading high quality texts. The children will be using these books to look closely at characters, plots, motivation, and authors' use of words and settings. There are 15 copies of each book in each class.
Do help your child by talking to them about their special story. Ask them what they have learned in class about their book. You could even go to the library and borrow a copy to enjoy at home.
We will be choosing another set of excellent children's books next half term.

On Tuesday mornings in assembly, we are reading the book 'Once Upon a Wild Wood', written and illustrated by Chris Riddell.  It is a richly imagined story, packed full of familiar fairy tale characters as you've never seen them before. The illustrations are full of witty details to discover and are giving us lots to talk about!
