Sunflowers - from EYFS to Year 1

Before moving into Year 1, the children planted sunflower seeds in the EYFS outdoor area. This followed a relatively disappointing batch that had been sown in the classroom, so we didn't get our hopes up too high! When we returned after the summer holidays, however, we were blown away to see that some of our sunflowers had grown to over 3 metres tall! The children were amazed to see how big they had grown and couldn't believe the number of seeds packed into each sunflower head!
