The Power Of Words - Holocaust Memorial Day 2018

9th February 2018

Year 6 classes have been learning about Holocaust Memorial Day.  The theme for this year is ‘The Power of Words’.  We heard about the stories of Renie Inow, Jo Ingabire and Sedin Mustafic.  The children then wrote postcards to Renie after hearing her story.  We will be sending her the postcards, and hope that she might write back to us.

Year 6 children have also written poems, inspired by the theme of ‘The Power of Words’.  We chose yellow paper to represent hope for the future.

Year 6 classes have also been learning about ‘Stolpersteine’.  These are brass-topped stones which are placed into pavements, to remind passers-by of some of the people who died during World War II.
